Happy Birthday, Burt Lancaster!
Here at Gobsmackd, we love moxie. We like sass. And while we dislike like violence on principle (use your words!), we dislike a sucker punch even more. So this anecdote about Burt Lancaster's theatre days (theatre people get the unnecessary anarchy one earnest method actor can bring to a rehearsal), brought about a slow clap. But knee-jerk response aside, Burt Lancaster was actually quite an interesting fellah. He was literally ran away to join the circus, he was smart, talented, thoughtful, and early supporter of HIV research and had integrity in spades. And he wasn't too hard on the eyes. So Burt Lancaster, we salute you. In card form.
