Card of the Week - Easter Bunny Laments

Here at Gobsmack'd, we suspect that when they were pairing animals with holidays, the rabbit was busy enjoying a snack someplace else. We get the whole rabbit as a symbol of fertility, but how did that evolve into a giant rabbit traveling and handing out chocolate replicas of itself to be eaten by children on a solemn religious holiday? I cannot hate Easter because Easter gave us Peeps, but when I saw this artwork by Michael Sowa entitled, Frohe Ostern aka Happy Easter, I couldn't stop thinking of the holiday from the rabbit's perspective. And that's how the world got this Gobsmack'd Easter card.
