THE WHALE SURVIVED THE RAMMING AND SUBSEQUENT SINKING OF THE SHIP, HOWEVER THE CREW RESORTED TO CANNIBALISM ON THE OPEN SEA AND LESS THAN HALF OF THEM LIVED TO TELL THE TALE.
